This NVQ can also be completed using our unique on-line NVQ system
The level 3 NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety is a qualification that is designed for candidates who are not health, safety and environment professionals,
but who are involved in Health and Safety in their workplace.
There are no specific qualifications, learning or experience required for candidates undertaking the qualification.
At a time when there is a lot of discussion about ‘COMPETENCE’ this is a qualification that measures the competence of a person in a work situation and is an ideal
way for organisations to demonstrate that they take the Health and Safety of their workforce seriously.
NVQs are widely accepted as being assets to any company wishing to increase the competence of its staff and the organisation.
They are viewed as building blocks upon which the success of your organisation can be built and are entirely consistent with other initiatives such as Investors
in People and OHSAS 18001.
In addition many insurance companies see NVQs as a key element to ensuring the competence of their clients’ staff when assessing Employers' Liability Insurance.
Business Safety Systems is widely accepted as one of the most successful NVQ providers in the UK with over 900 successful candidates.
All our assessors and verifiers are members of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and have experience in a wide range of working environments.
Candidates may also use our unique NVQ on-line system to help them with the process of collating evidence for their portfolios.
Knowledge and experience requirements
There are no specific prior qualifications that are required to commence this qualification. However, candidates will need to have basic literacy and numeracy
skills, together with the ability to organise information in a clear and coherent manner.
Proof of any relevant health and safety knowledge or qualifications previously obtained by candidates (eg. IOSH/NEBOSH Certificates) will be required.
